Intasoft awarded Canadian aircraft contract

Intasoft have been awarded a $50,000 dollar contract by Canadian firm, Northern Airborne Technology Ltd, (NAT). NAT will be implementing Intasoft’s premier change and configuration management product, AllChange, across their engineering and IT departments to provide a fully integrated document, change and configuration management system.

NAT is a leading manufacturer of specialized aircraft communication equipment for Air Ambulance, Law Enforcement, SAR, EMS, Electronic News Gathering, military and marine applications. OEMs such as Bell, Eurocopter, McDonnell Douglas and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries have NAT’s products installed as standard equipment on several production helicopters. Products include Audio Management systems, FM radios, Intercoms, P/A & Loudhailers, Data Interface accessories and Emergency Locator Beacons.

NAT develops avionics and electronic products in response to industry demands and is proud that many of its products have earned recognition as “Industry Standard”.

Marek Jaglarz, Certification Engineer at NAT explains, ‘When I was looking for a suitable CM tool for NAT’s software development, I considered these features when comparing various tools on the market:

  • Configuration identification facilities
  • Mechanisms for establishing & controlling baselines/releases
  • Traceability
  • Configuration & change control
  • Problem reporting, correcting, tracking facilities
  • Configuration status accounting features
  • Configuration auditing, monitoring and reporting functions
  • Archive, retrieval & release facilities
  • User-friendly interface

AllChange provided all these functions (and more) in a single integrated, highly flexible and configurable suite. (Most tools on the market either have limited capabilities or are in a form of building blocks, which have to be integrated to provide the required functionality.) Moreover, AllChange comes in the instantly usable out-of-the-box configuration, complete with templates, reports, integrated with MS Office, E-mail, Web browsers, and several third-party development environments. This means that most of the work with setting up our CM system is already done. We can use AllChange as is and change its configuration, if required, later – without affecting our project schedules or their databases’.

Marek continues ‘The exceptional flexibility of AllChange will allow us to deploy it
in other departments to bring all our products, documents, drawings, code and our processes under CM control. We do not realize its full potential yet, but what we know gives us confidence that AllChange will not only meet our CM objectives but will also be instrumental in streamlining our processes, reducing overhead by automating tasks and controls, reducing paperwork and paper chase, thereby providing an excellent ROI’.

Tony Collins, Business Development Director at Intasoft adds, ‘Our consultants have been working closely with NATS in order to provide a total configuration management solution, and we are delighted to welcome them to our expanding international client base’.
